Kyle Is Born

On June 22, 2007 our family was blessed with a new baby boy. His name is Kyle Dean Skelton. He was born at 11:03 am, weighing 7 pounds 4 ounces and 20.5 inches long. He had strawberry blond hair, and looked just like his big brother, RC, when he was born.

Our family and friends were anxiously awaiting his arrival. Grandmommie brought RC to the hospital; Papa & Lai were there, along with Aunt Sarah, Uncle Michael, & Zoe, Grandmother, Gary & Sue Walske, Pete & Nan Meckel. They couldn't wait for Ronny to come out and tell them that Kyle was here!

RC was waiting for him, even wanted to come into the operating room and watch while the doctor did the c-section. He couldn't wait to see Kyle, and when he finally got to see him through the window of the nursery, he couldn't wait to touch him. He was very worried that he was crying so much, and when could he touch him, and what were they doing to his baby brother....then he was concerned that Kyle wasn't being modest and needed to put on a diaper.

We recommended that everyone go have lunch while I was in recovery, and then they could come and hold Kyle when they got me settled in my room. But before they left, the sweet nurse told Ronny that he could get RC and let him touch his baby brother for the first time. They were about to bring Kyle to me in the recovery room, but Ronny quickly got RC and he got to see his brother up close for the first time.

After lunch, they came to wait with us in the room, but it seemed like forever. When he finally got to hold him on the bed with me, all he wanted to do was kiss him, and rub his cheek on his soft little head. Papa asked RC if he wanted to trade Kyle in for a little girl and have a little sister instead. RC said, "What would I want with a girl?"
